Sept – Turnstyle and Webreader Updates

Publishers Asked, We’re Delivering! Greetings! Publishers are asking for more and we are delivering! We recently told you about the addition of collection level search and email share in our new web reader, but we’re not stopping there! This month we are releasing several other exciting features we want you to be aware of. Look Inside for Articles From any subscriber managed title, readers have the opportunity to share an article using our Look Inside feature. This allows non-subscribers to sample pages of any issue (Page View) or a full article (Reader View) without the need to subscribe. Once they’ve reached their allotted page count or the end of the article, they’ll be redirected to a subscribe page. With Look Inside, publishers can now share links in social media campaigns and search engine links will now allow users to sample premium content. Style Enhancements Content creators matter! To champion your authors, Author Bios will now automatically get styled. Headshots, descriptions, email addresses and social media links will be styled to provide a professional look and feel your authors deserve. Here’s an example:
New Video Platform In case you missed it, JW Player is our new video platform. JW Player provides you with: The opportunity to customize and brand your video player Pre-roll and Post-roll advertising opportunity Easy to use analytics If video is an important element within your digital edition, JW Player is the product for you. Interested? Ask your publishing support teamabout JW Player. Note: We will continue to allow publishers the ability to use flowplayer at no additional cost. Publishers should be aware that flowplayer requires readers to have flash enabled. Link Behavior In an effort to remain consistent, linking behavior works the same now regardless of where your readers are accessing a link from, (reader view, page view). When a reader taps on an external link the browser will open a new window or tab rather than take over the browser session.Bug Fixes Bug fixes we’ve recently released include: Multiple size pages within a single issue and hotspot linking, includes better zoom functionality Mobile Web reader – large pages fitting correctly in iPad Improved sign in functionality on the App
