Uploading Multimedia to the Dashboard

Media files can be uploaded via the Publisher Dashboard and also in the Issue Editor.

The file types supported for multimedia files are: GIF, JPG, PNG, MOV, AVI, WMV, MPG, MP4, M4V, FLV, F4V, MP3, M4A, WAV, HTML.

All video files are converted to MP4 once uploaded.  All audio files are converted to MP3 once uploaded.

The maximum file size that can be loaded is 100 MB.  If a file over that size is uploaded, you will receive an ERROR PROCESSING FILE message.

Publisher Dashboard

To upload multimedia files via the Publisher Dashboard, log in to your account and navigate to the issue that you would like to upload multimedia files to.  If the issue hasn’t been created yet, please follow the steps for creating an issue first contained in the Dashboard Help file.  Click the UPLOAD FILES button from either the Dashboard screen or the issue

A new window will open.  For the Category dropdown, select MULTIMEDIA.  The file types supported are listed above the upload area.  When a Category is selected, the SELECT FILES button will turn from light blue to dark blue.

Click the SELECT FILES button.  The File Explorer dialog box will appear.  Navigate to the directory on your computer, where the multimedia file(s) that you wish to upload are located.  Select the file(s) then click the OPEN button.  The file(s) selected will appear with a Pending status in the file upload area.  The START UPLOAD button will turn from light blue to dark blue.

Once you have added all the files you wish to upload to the upload are, please click the START UPLOAD button.  An upload status for each file will display.

Once the file has finished uploading, the status will turn to processing.

Once the file(s) have finished processing, the dialog box will close and you will be returned to the issue details screen, displaying the multimedia files uploaded on the MULTIMEDIA tab.

An email will also be sent to you and your Digital Specialist with the details of the file(s) uploaded.  An example:
