Start issue
Once all issues files are uploaded to the Publisher Dashboard and you complete the Request App form, we can have the your app ready for submission within about one week for a title already live, or two weeks for a new title. There are a number of variables determining how long this will take altogether, for example:
- Are we building the app with an issue that has already been converted, or do we have to wait for the issue PDFs to get started?
- Have materials been supplied in full or are we waiting on items?
After submission, there is an unknown waiting period before Apple approves and puts the app for sale, which is unfortunately out of our control. Android is typically approved within a few business days. Please expect at least one week for Apple to approve, and allow up to two or more.
Note that much of the app content (issue pages and articles, RSS feeds, banner ads) can be modified after the app is submitted or live, even, such that you can resolve problems with these items after submission, to cut down on the total wait time.
Items that can not be modified without resubmission/re-approval from Apple include: icons, the launch image, app store name, app display name and keywords. Changes to any item that requires an app store update may be subject to additional fees.
GTxcel will submit updated versions of your app to the app store as applicable new functionality becomes available. Apple will then take another week or so to review and approve.
We will need to know which issues you would like included in the app launch. The per-issue fee will apply to all included issues. One issue must be live at submission time, so we recommend either starting with a back issue, or planning your app promotion for several weeks after the publication date of your first issue, given the timing of the approval process.
